Hello, I'm Sophie
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What started as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn’t part of our long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far beyond a simple move.
The early weeks were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and higher expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more challenging than planned.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and lots of hands-on learning. But gradually, routines started to take shape. We found places that suited us, met other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Built Field Crest Signal
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Does (And Doesn’t)
This site is:
- Practical insights from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when changes truly occur
This site isn't:
- Not a resource from a tourism authority
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in Switzerland continues, and the learning process goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Zurich or anywhere in Switzerland, feel free to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sophie
